Eight week review

I keep revising the title to this post.  It was going to be a "month in review" but that was four weeks ago.  Suffice it to say, we've been somewhat busy this summer.  New baby, new city, new job and everything that goes along with that.  Pictures tell the best blog stories, so here's a visual overview of what we've been up to for the past eight weeks.

Baby Bene was born (6/20/17)

We moved out of our house (6/30/17)

We vacationed with extended family on the Olympic Peninsula

While on the peninsula, we blessed Bene

Then, we lived with extended family for the middle weeks of July.
During which time we made sure to hit up our favorite Seattle summer spots:

South Lake Union splash park

Bainbridge Island

And Volunteer Park of course (see pictures above and below)

Bene also hit the one month mark

Late at night on July 24th, we arrived in Chicago for the year

Since then, we've been settling into our new home and neighborhood, which has a great playground with water feature right across the street from our building.

We've spent a part of almost every day so far here

We are learning to get around town (we do have our car - Owen and Opa D drove it out from Seattle right after our Olympic Peninsula vacation with whatever stuff we could fit into it - but I've only been driving it once or maybe twice a week since it's often more fun and efficient to walk or use transit)

We had fun with our first out of town visitors

And are taking advantage of this nice summery Chicago weather before it changes.  Owen started his fellowship on August 1st, which unfortunately, is mainly indoors.  He is enjoying being back in the operating room though.

We've discovered some good spots in this city.  There are challenges to city living with three kids, but there are also so many things for kids to do in Chicago that it's been fun trying them out.
