School, schedules, and some more stuff

We've been blessed with beautiful warm and sunny (but mostly not too humid) weather for most of August into September, but the start of school and other commitments for the boys has marked the end of summer.  No more waking up to decide on what park to check out or fret about how we can't get out the door before 11am.  Now we are out before 7:30am!  We still try to make it out to our playground park before dinner, but bedtime is stricter now and we are all tired by the end of the day.

Here's a glimpse of what we've been up to the second half of August into September:

Bene hit the two month mark...and started to really open his big blue eyes

We marked the solar eclipse with supermoon ice cream cones at Jeni's

We made the end of summer count with more water park fun (at Margaret Donahue Park)

Beach biking fun (at Montrose Beach)

Reptile encounter fun (at the Nature Museum)

Go home without a shirt fun (on the CTA bus)

Finding a huge model train set featuring your former town (at the Museum of Science and Industry)

Danton became an urban bike commuter

And Eli found fun things to do on the Alcott Elementary grounds after Danton goes to school

Danton had his first soccer game last Saturday, followed immediately by a Cubs game with Owen (thanks to Emma and Curt for the free tickets)

Eli was happily reunited with his brother after the game and appreciated the free hat as well.

We finally got Bene to fall asleep in the double stroller; this is a literal weight off my chest for as long as it lasts each time

Eli, Bene, and I checked out Shedd Aquarium last Wednesday.

Lots going on with these boys.  We are tired but I think they are having fun.  Luckily Bene continues to earn his good baby points and is easy to bring along for the ride.  I've ordered the weather protector for our double stroller in anticipation of the changing season.  But first it looks like we are in for a hot and humid weekend.
